February 12, 2009, IFA Ukraine hold General Membership meeting, joined by Head of STA International Relations Department Mr. Yuriy Gladun.
During the meeting IFA Ukraine Members had an excellent opportunity to discuss with the government official the most pressing issues on the international tax agenda, as well as to hear the first-hand information on the upcoming legislative developments in the area.
The following issues have been discussed: application of Ukraine-Netherlands Treaty norms, beneficial owner issue, taxation of financing received by PEs from the head office, status of Ukraine - Cyprus Treaty, etc.
In closing, Yuriy Gladun and Oleh Marchenko agreed on necessity to promote two-way communication between IFA Ukraine and STA in order to work out a joint position in a number of international tax related issues. In particular, Yuriy Gladun proposed to IFA Members to develop a list of recommendations to be substantially discussed and agreed on with State Tax Administration of Ukraine.
